THE SEASHORE
By Joy Worcester (10)
I went to the seashore in the middle of June;
Calling birds, swaying ferns, flowers in full bloom.
The water was like glass it was so clear,
Rainbow colored fish swam far and near.
A little breeze flitted through the balmy air,
Rippling the ocean, sifting through my hair.
But then! A flaming sunset with flaring red and gold,
It took my breath away; it was such beauty to behold.
Slivers of purple and orange filled the view,
The reflection on water showed colors of every hue.
Shades of blue, tints of green,
Better than the most gorgeous painting I’ve ever seen.
But raindrops are falling more and more, frothy waves beat the shore;
Lightening flashed, thunder crashed, it’s the beginning of a storm.
In Sunset Ocean,
Calm commotion
It is beauty,
For the Lord made it all.
