How finalists are determined:

In semi-finals, the teams with the four best records go to finals. So the 1st through 4th place teams are in. First we look to the top teams for win-loss record, so 5-0 and 4-1 teams have a pretty good chance (although 3-2 and 2-3 teams have also made it). If more than 4 teams have the same win-loss record, we then use speaker points to break the tie. If those are also equal, we look to speaker rank (how many 1s and 2s that team got) to break the tie. This weekend, in Juniors we had one team with a 5-0 record, and four teams with 4-1. The 5-0 team was automaticlly in semis. We then chose the three best 4-1 teams for semis based on speaker points. Then in semis the #1 team faces the #4, and #2 faces #3. Then the winners of those rounds go on to finals.

Speaker Awards are given to those with highest speaker points (win-loss is ignored), ties are broken based on Speaker Ranks (most 1s and 2s).
